2021 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Is Wonderfully Colorful
Limitless Color Combinations
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has certainly served as stable in automotive history and a cultural icon. It’s also one of the most multifaceted SUVs on the market with its incredible off-road ability, AMG® body styling, as well as its high-tech and futuristic interior. We were blown away with the amount of available style-focused goodies on the 2020 model, and it appears the company is looking to do the same for its upcoming 2021 G-Class Wagon. A more extensive range of colors will be added, including trim options involved in Mercedes’s Manufaktur customization program.
In July, it was announced of the expansion of the brand’s Designo Manufaktur Program, which gives buyers the ability to personalize their vehicles as they see fit. Although this program has been around for quite some time, the expansion allows buyers to have more creative control with the design of his or her car.
According to the company, the total number of combinations now includes a total of 34 exterior colors and a jaw-dropping 54 interior upholsteries, some of which act as Manufaktur options and others which are standard offerings. It is expected that the new Manufaktur exterior colors will be priced at $6500 each, just like the current assortment paint choices. With so many options to choose from, it almost creates another problem with not being able to decide.
Other minute updates regarding equipment include brand-new standard wireless phone charging, available 20-inch wheels, and an appearance package dubbed the AMG® Night Package Magno. The G-Wagon will still keep its 416 horse powered G 550 and 577 horse powered AMG® G 63 forms, and it is also unlikely that prices will make a drastic shift from its current $131,895 (G 550) and starting prices of $157,445.
More Exciting Updates
The redesigned G-Wagon will receive other exciting new features like “Desert” drive mode. This system, which is activated by the Dynamic Selecter rocker switch, alters the electronic stability and throttle control to better traction on sandy terrain.
Another cool feature is the two equipment packages available that will serve as replacements for the break-in and anti-theft alarm system: Urban Guard Vehicle Protection and Urban Guard Vehicle Protection Plus. These packages include security features like anti-theft alarm system, tow-away protection with visual and audible warning as well as the ability to track the whereabouts of a stolen vehicle.
Another design option includes the fan-favorite Night Package, which can now be ordered without the AMG® Line and Stainless Steel Package. It comes with high-end materials like heat-insulating dark-tinted glass, outside mirror housings and radiator grille in obsidian black metallic, coupled with darkened turn signal lamps, reversing lamps, and headlamps.
Last but not least, new 20-inch five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels are accessible on the AMG® Line, while the personalization program offers three new grey, green, and blue colors based on the original G-Class.
