2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Flaunts New Trim Level North America
Around February of this year, Mercedes-Benz fans got to feast their eyes on the all-new 2022 C-Class sedan for the first time. As expected, this company’s luxury vehicle took notes from its posher sibling, the S-Class sedan. The newest C model, also known as the W206, has gone through a complete revamp, such as with its S-Class-inspired sheet metal and fully-mild-hybrid lineup; though it is worth noting that there has only been one powertrain announced so far.
The 2022 C-Class is set to arrive in the States around early to the middle of next year, and upon that time, three trim levels will be offered for the C 300 and the C 300 4MATIC® models, which encompass: Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle. Whilst the previous-generation 2021 North American C 300 basically has one trim and various optional packages, the new trims encompass various features, and will also have surplus options that can be layered on top.
Premium
The entry-level Premium trim features a slew of standard and progressive features, such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, second-gen MBUX with a fingerprint scanner, wireless smartphone integration, and 18-inch wheels. In terms of safety, technologies involved are blind spot assist, attention assist, active brake assist, and the brand’s Pre-safe system.
Optional features on the C-Class Premium involve the AMG® Line with Night package, which tacks on a ritzy diamond-pattern grille and many other glamorous design elements. Other options include adaptive headlights, navigation, panorama roof, and much more.
Exclusive
Moving up to the Exclusive trim, some added goodies that buyers will appreciate include active parking assist, a surround-view camera system, more ambient lighting, an inductive phone charger, and Burmester premium sound. The options are the same, and involve a few add-ons such as a heated steering wheel and Sirius XM.
Pinnacle
Finally, the highest-ranking Pinnacle trim really packs in the punch navigation, a head-up display, and the augmented video navigation feature for MBUX. Premier options for this model involve a dash-cam and a fixed toll pass.
Other Fun Facts
The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has not yet revealed what the estimated are for the C model, but more than likely, these numbers shouldn’t stray away too much for the current sedan, which has a rating of 23 mpg for the city and 33 mpg for the highway
At the current moment pricing for this upscale sedan is unavailable. Car site, Car and Driver estimates that the Premium trim will have a starting price of $43,000, (plus destination fee), the Exclusive trim will go for about $47,000, (plus destination fee), and the Pinnacle trim for about $51,000, (plus destination fee). Either way, the experience that the C-Class gives both drivers and passengers is one that you don’t want to miss out on.
