A Look At The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e
Mercedes-Benz recently revealed a new hybrid trim for the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV. This GLC 350e trim improves upon the non-hybrid GLC thanks to the addition of an electric motor. Equipped with a 2L four-cylinder engine and a battery, the GLC 350e provides drivers with increased efficiency and versatility. In the face of declining EV demand, automakers like Mercedes-Benz have started repositioning themselves. The German automaker initially pushed for EVs but due to declining sales, they have since redirected their attention toward ICE vehicles and hybrids like the GLC 350e. As hybrids are a gateway to electric vehicles, once concerns like extended battery range and increased charging infrastructure are addressed, consumers will consider EVs. For now, we’ll take a look at the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e.
Hybrid Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e Is Efficient
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e was recently released as a hybrid variant of the GLC SUV. While Mercedes-Benz has been focused on EVs, hybrid models help bridge the gap between ICE and electric vehicles. In the face of a steep decline in EV demand, Mercedes is hoping that hybrids like the GLC 350e will motivate consumers to consider switching to EVs. As far as the hybrid SUV goes, it essentially improves upon the previous GLC series increasing versatility and efficiency.
The 2025 GLC 350e arrives with a new powertrain. The midsize SUV features a turbocharged 2L four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor and 24.8-kWh battery pack. Together the GLC 350e sees a total output of 313 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes-Benz has made the SUV a plug-in hybrid which means owners can make use of their battery wherever they go. With an extra 81 miles of battery range, drivers can maximize their SUV’s efficiency. The GLC 350e also utilizes a regenerative braking setup which helps extend battery life. Using a DC fast charger, owners can fully charge their battery in just 30 minutes.
Aside from the new powertrain, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e features many similarities to the GLC class. These include exterior and interior features as owners will find a 12.3-inch display serving as the digital gauge cluster and a 11.9-inch display as the infotainment screen. Upscale materials decorate the interior cabin and a panoramic sunroof creates an airy atmosphere. Premium features like ventilated seats, a head-up display, and a digital voice assistant are available. Safety features like blind spot assist, automatic emergency braking, and a built-in dashcam ensure drivers remain safe. Pricing has not been announced yet but the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e is expected to start at an MSRP of $55,000 (plus destination fee).
