How Mercedes 2020 CLA-Class Has Made Great Improvements
9 times out of 10, whenever the topic of luxury vehicles comes up, either a Tesla, BMW, or more importantly, a Mercedes-Benz is mentioned.
The company had to overcome some obstacles in its conception of the CLA-Class, and one of them involved making sure that the body of the sedan was polished and dapper while also maintaining an entry-level price target below $40,000. Luckily, they accomplished what they set out to do, the 250 4MATIC®/all-wheel-drive has a starting price of a little over $38,000, (plus destination fee).
On the inside, it has some impressive high-class features, such as dual-customizable-wide-screen dash, merging in the gauge cluster and infotainment system, which has a pretty snazzy look to it. Also, the ritzy turbine-fashioned air vents and eye-catching colorful lighting and trim essences help bring together the deluxe feeling.
There are also plenty of standard drivers assistance features like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rain-sensing windshield wipers, crosswind assist, and my personal favorite, driver drowsiness monitoring. Optional safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, active park assist, and a surround-view parking camera system.
One thing that you might miss out on is the SiriusXM Satellite Radio, but the CLA more than makes up for this by including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth®, and HD Radio.
The 2020 CLA also includes Mercedes-Benz’s new MBUX infotainment system, a.k.a the driver’s digital assistant, as it has integrated the Alexa system. The program can recognize natural speaking language such as “Hey Mercedes” and as your request, then your task will be completed. One request might be “Hey Mercedes, I’m too cold” and the system will adjust itself to increase the temperature in the cabin. Ultimately, the more the driver adds his or her wishes, the more the system will recognize their voice, thus, creating an optimized driving experience.
The 2020 Mercedes sedan has an excellent powertrain to work with that aids in providing a performance that is exhilarating. It has a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission and a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that puts out 221 horsepower, which is 13 more than last year’s model, it also 256 lb-ft of torque. Another neat feature one can find is the standard ECO start/stop, which helps to save fuel and help reduce emissions.
It won’t take long to realize that the suspension has gone through significant improvements. The suspension of the CLA is very reassuring while providing much comfort and does away with the bumpy ride of the models of the previous generations.
Mercedes-Benz of Washington
With all of those dynamic features, you probably think the newest CLA is a pretty penny but its hardly the case, the base model has an incredibly affordable price of $36,650, (plus destination fee) and with all of its amazing features. The 35 intermediate trim comes in at $46,900 with bigger screens and suspension. Then the final 45 CLA trim slides right in at $54,800 the best horsepower and overall engine performance.
