Mercedes-Benz Presents Its Virtual Coupe Model At The League of Legends Show
Mercedes-Benz recently lengthened its partnership with game developer Riot Games until 2025, and they’re now presenting at least three wonders for Worlds 2022. An all-virtual show car can be seen in 2022’s Worlds music video, which has been available online since September 23rd (2022). This concept is made solely for the virtual world and makes it possible to create elements that usually wouldn’t be possible in reality.
Near the Worlds Final this Monday (Oct 3rd), fans in San Francisco were able to bask in the implementation of design features from the game within the digital EQS vehicle display. This unique experience allows fans of such a popular game around the world to engulf themselves in the world of League of Legends using Mercedes‑Benz MBUX infotainment systems.
On top of this, the EQS SUV is also strutting itself on the road as a fully-electric Benz vehicle journeys the Summoner’s Cup through the assorted tournament locations in North America. Starting at the beginning of October until November 5th, both the EQS SUV and 2022’s newly designed trophy can be revered, Specifically from New York to Atlanta to San Francisco.
Skin from MBUX and the show car were produced in a collaborative creative process between the two partners. “When designing an extraordinary and virtual show car, two worlds merge – real automotive design and animated design,” said Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Mercedes‑Benz Group AG. “Because of the virtual space, there are no limits to what we can do, which means we can push boundaries and give our creativity the space for the unexpected. The result is something unique: the first all-virtual show car from Mercedes‑Benz”.
Naz Aletaha, Riot Games Global Head of League of Legends Esports, added, “Since establishing our partnership, it’s been inspiring to see how the teams across Riot and Mercedes‑Benz continue to fearlessly pursue opportunities to elevate and celebrate our sport. Whether in physical form, like our beautiful World Championship rings, or a virtual show car, we are thrilled that our partnership extension reinforces our collective commitment to pushing creative limits that deliver exciting experiences to LoL Esports fans for the years to come.”
During the third year of this alliance, Mercedes‑Benz will continue to center its efforts on the fan community for League of Legends Esports, which is popular worldwide. This involves reinstalling the League of Legends Esports World Championship ring, with this year’s edition applying an ecological diamond at the center.
Moreover, the format for the LoL quick on the game and Worlds, which has proved to be highly successful since its 2020 launch, will be used again and offered throughout this year’s tournament period. 10,000 Hextech Chests, which are virtual surprise boxes with sought-after in-game items, will be presented to the best and fastest participants. The festivities are worked with a multi-channel campaign that involves a TV spot and connected social media communication.
