Mercedes-Benz recently revealed a new 2024 CLE Cabriolet convertible. Offered as both a convertible and a coupe, the CLE Cabriolet serves as a replacement for the discontinued C-class and E-class coupes. The stylish convertible has only been shown as a European model, but consumers can expect the Cabriolet to arrive in the US later this year. As of late, Mercedes-Benz has been focused on EVs. The German automaker has planned several charging hubs throughout the Southeastern US. A new EV prototype has also been spotted. Mercedes’ latest CLE Cabriolet offers a hybrid setup further fueling the automaker’s EV ambitions. We’ll take a closer look at the convertible and see what consumers can expect.

Mercedes-Benz Unveils 2024 Cabriolet Convertible

Mercedes-Benz recently revealed a new 2024 CLE Cabriolet convertible. The convertible is intended to replace the C-class and E-class coupes. Both a convertible and coupe version of the new Cabriolet will be available. Currently, only a European model has been shown but US consumers can expect the CLE Cabriolet to arrive later this year. Both the convertible and coupe feature similar designs minus the retractable soft roof. Those opting for the convertible will have the option to choose between the colors black, gray, or red. The roof takes about 20 seconds to open and close and will function up to 37 mph. Mercedes’s Aircap wind deflection system and Airscarf ventilation system will help redirect cold air over passengers’ heads when the roof is retracted. They will also provide heating.

For performance, the 2024 CLE Cabriolet offers several powertrain options including a turbocharged 2L inline-four-cylinder engine that delivers 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. There’s also the option for a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine that delivers 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet. A 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive come standard. Both powertrain options feature a 48-volt hybrid setup that adds 23 horsepower and 148 pound-feet.

Inside the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet, owners will find a cabin similar to the C-class. A 12.3-inch display serves as the digital gauge cluster while an 11.9-inch floating display serves as the infotainment system. Owners can adjust the infotainment screen to prevent glare when the top is down. The seats also feature a reflective coating to help mitigate damage to the leather material. For storage capacity, the trunk averages 13.5 cubic feet. This is reduced to 10.4 cubic feet with the roof folded back. Official pricing has not been released for the 2024 CLE Cabriolet but the coupe version is expected to start at an MSRP of $57, 650 (plus destination fee). This luxury convertible may pave the way for those fans of the C-class and E-class. For now, we’ll be staying tuned for more information.
