The 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet Create A Fast-Paced Double Take
Mercedes-Benz is pushing out a couple of new-fashioned 2021 E-Class deviants to join forces with the newly unveiled E-Class sedan and All-Terrain wagon. In this instance, the 2021 E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet will be gifted to us as standard offerings and AMG® E 53 styles.
As with its sedan, the German automaker replaced the V6 engine in the E 450 Coupe and Cabriolet in exchange for its 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6. The dynamic duo also makes use of the 48-volt design, which has the ability to push out 21 horsepower and 184 lb-feet of torque. The powertrain also provides much strength with 362 horsepower and 369 lb-feet of torque. Moreover, a 9-speed automatic transmission takes care of all of the shifting responsibilities.
The updates for the E-Class fraternal twins are comparable to that of the Mercedes sedan. The company altered the design of the front end with a new “diamond radiator” grille. Those who opt for the AMG® Line package will enjoy the chrome-plated look of the bulbous dots as well as the internal features that have been reimagined with new LED lights. An optional aerodynamic wheel enrolls in the lineup and is alleged to offer a slight increase overall effectiveness. Four new colors are also coming in, in addition to Designo Patagonia Red Metallic.
On the interior, drivers will find a new steering wheel with touch-capacitive controls. Both models will add on the latest MBUX infotainment system, along with standard tech supplies such as two 12.3-inch screens. Other standard features include the AIRSCARF® neck warmer and AIRCAP® electric-powered wind deflector, but just for the Cabriolet.
As for the 2021 AMG® E 53 models, it is currently unknown whether or not there will be any changes for these particular variants, however, at the moment the E 53 Coupe and Cabriolet are the highest performing versions in their segment with the lineup. Both vehicles make use of the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 which produces 429 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. Shifting is accomplished by Mercedes multi-clutch 9-speed automatic transmission, with the all-wheel-drive being standard.
The 53’s also got a bit of a makeover for 2021. Mercedes included a revised form of its large Panamericana grille. The design of the LED highlights is also flattened and refined to provide more intensity. In the back, the new taillight design is brought along from the standard vehicle. There are also two new paint colors, one being the Designo Brilliant Blue Magno drifting from the AMG® GT lineup.
In-house, the AMG® makes use of the new MBUX infotainment system, which has been restyled with a new Supersport mode. This mode places the rev counter in the center, while additional bits of information are on the side of it. Furthermore, new AMG® model dials are embedded in the new steering wheel style that mirrors a bit the standard 2021 E-Class.
Mercedes-Benz says that these new E-Class Coupes and Cabriolets are coming our way by late this year.
