The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Gets Nothing But The Best For Its Technology Features

2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

German automaker, Mercedes-Benz has been a top-dog in the luxury automotive market for decades upon even more decades. Now their big and bad flagship S-Class sedan is one of their newest members stepping onto the scene.

“The S-Class is the flagship of our lineup. And every time we launch a new S-Class, it is something super special,” said Bernie Glaser, director of product management at Mercedes-Benz USA.

As with any new vehicle from the car company, it’s only more dramatic with its features, size, and…price tag. The starting price of the full-size vehicle is $109,800, (plus destination fee). For many loyal S-Class buyers, money is no object, especially because you get what you pay for when it comes to this brand.

The four-door S-Class has become somewhat of an icon worldwide and the ultimate standard of what one should expect out of the luxury sedan. In fact, this car has made many appearances in films over many years, usually appearing when a scene calls for power, grandeur, and even intimidation.

For the 2021 model year, drivers and passengers in the S model are spoiled with opulence, not just in the design, but also in the technology. Examples of the interior advanced technology include 3D graphics and an active heads-up display. Accessing personal settings is a no-brainer for the driver, as the layout of this technology is very user-friendly.

“You can use your fingerprint or we have a camera looking at you that can actually identify who is in the car right now and sets up the entire interior just for yourself,” noted Glaser.

This vehicle also provides a very personal experience for the driver, as it recognizes who is behind the wheel once it’s programmed, and even performs other functions like adjusting the seats, mirrors, radio station favorites of the individual driver. There are a total of seven profiles that the car can store for different individuals.

Additionally, there are features like four-wheel steering that make driving easier. At lower speeds, the rear wheels can steer around 10 degrees in the opposite direction in the front, which allows drivers to make sharp turns if need be. As big as this car is, you’ll be surprised at its maneuverability while driving in residential areas.

“If you look at the car, it’s a large, long-wheelbase S-Class. And it gives you a turning radius which is almost comparable to one of our compact cars, the A-Class,” said Mercedes-Benz‘s Bernie Glaser.

Looking underneath the hood, a standard mild hybrid system is incorporated between the engine and transmission, aiding in more efficiency and a little more intensity. On top of this, the automaker’s 4MATIC® all-wheel-drive is standard for this model year.

The S-Class is known for its prestige status, which is a privilege it has enjoyed for many years, however, for some drivers, everything that car already has to offer still won’t be enough…because there’s something else coming our way.

Coming soon to the automotive market is the Mercedes-Maybach version of the S-Class. It has even more of what the S-Class has to offer, is built to order, and is priced around $200,000, (plus destination fee).

“And that takes the S-Class to another level. It comes as an eight-cylinder, or our V-12 flagship S-Class Maybach, that’s the S680,” added Glaser.

While it is true that SUVs have surpassed the popularity of sedans by a long shot, that doesn’t mean cars should be discounted, especially ones that are as valuable as the S-Class. Besides, Mercedes-Benz doesn’t seem to be struggling with selling its sedans, especially its flagship.
