The all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ is an ultra-refined, fully eclectic mid-size luxury car that defies the expectations of what one should expect out of a sedan. It’s filled with technically sophisticated mechanics, passenger comforts, and safety gadgets, and possesses superb driving dynamics. This isn’t just an electric sedan, it’s THE electric sedan.

The EQE is part of Mercedes-Benz’s new EQ-series, sporting attributes like a one-bow, cab-shaped design that stands out by the signature black front fascia. It looks quite similar to the larger EQS, but it’s 9 inches shorter.

Inside, the 5-seater cabin is bountiful with space and attractive materials. Front-seat occupants will be welcomed by a 12.3-inch digital display working in tandem with a standard 12.8-inch central touchscreen display. Those who want to show off a bit more can opt for the massive 56.0-inch MBUX Hyperscreen. Passengers will also enjoy their favorite tunes via the Burmester surround-sound audio system.

The EQE rides on the same Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA) platform as the EQS, but this model is geared with a 10-module battery pack. The 350+ has 90.6 kWh of storage, which should allow more than 300 miles of range. Owners have two ways to charge replenish their batteries, with the first by using the typical at-home Level 2 charger and the second using the 170kW DC fast charger. This DC charger is often found by public charging stations, and it takes just 30 minutes to bring it back to an 80 percent charge.

Mercedes-Benz also offers various driving modes through its DYNAMIC SELECT feature. This system offers Comfort, Sport, Eco, and Individual and regeneration modes that change the car’s behavior from highly effective to super sporty.

The EQE 350+ offers its exceptional AIRMATIC® air suspension with ADS+ adaptive damping, which is responsible for further improving the ride quality. The aerodynamics also help to keep the cabin as quiet as a mouse, you’ll probably only hear the faint rush of distant wind.

As far as the dynamics, steering is tuned quite nicely, while the suspension is made for comfort. The sedan is incredibly stable, especially while cutting corners and simply speaks with confidence. There is an available rear-axle steering system that offers up to 10 degrees of rear steering. In turn, this improves agility and maneuverability in various driving situations. The car is also adept at braking and the energy regeneration system is smooth and nearly faultless.

Addressing more of the interior technologies. The sedan involves the brand’s new-gen MBUX Multimedia System with Navigation and Natural Language Understanding and Keyword Activation, in which you would say “Hey Mercedes” to activate commands. The system also has a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication with up to seven profiles that can be stored. Other goodies include wireless smartphone integration and a wireless charging pad, and Keyless-Go And Keyless-Start that allows one to approach, unlock, and drive the EQE in a seamless process.

The 305+ offers a full suite of driver assistance systems that encompass the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC adaptive cruise control and a plethora of Active Assist electronics meant for emergency stopping, parking, steering, braking, cross-traffic, blind-spot monitoring, and traffic sign recognition.

Regarding safety, the sedan is geared with the brand’s Pre-Safe system which involves functions that prepare passengers for an impending collision, thereby keeping occupants safe during a crash, and notifying emergency services after the accident.

It’s clear that the 2023 EQE 350+ doesn’t compromise when it comes to its design, performance, technologies, and…we’ll everything else.
