The Latest On The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe
In the last two years, Mercedes-Benz has introduced new generations of its C-class sedan and GLC-class SUV. This time, the luxury German automaker is introducing the GLC’s sloped-shaped sister, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.
The previous iteration of the GLC Coupe was loved for its curvy and shapely design and its plentiful amount of standard features; two elements have been transferred to the 2024 model. The new version’s styling possesses the same silhouette as before and has several comparable design cues. In truth, if one doesn’t take the time to analyze the differences in detail, there may appear to be no change to the naked eye. Despite this, morphed headlights and taillights are the easiest way to point to the new GLC Coupe. The running lights and the top edge of its housing are now angled downward.
As with the more conventional-looking GLC, the coupe’s counterpart is slightly larger than its 2023 forebearer. The SUV measures 187.5 inches from front to back, 1.2 inches longer than before. The width has also increased by 0.2 inches in the front and 0.9 inches in the rear. This augmentation aids in expanding the coupe’s cargo area, which has 19 cubic feet of space, one cube more than before.
Several Standards
The upcoming GLC Coupe brings on a slew of new standard niceties to a vehicle that was already generous with them. For instance, the AMG® Line package is now standard, together with wireless phone charging, heated seats, and a Burmester 3D surround-sound system. Mercedes-Benz has also streamlined frequently combined options into single packages.
In the same way as the C-class sedan and the standard GLC-Class, the coupe counterpart comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder mated with a 48-volt hybrid system. This engine produces 255 horsepower and 295 lb-feet of torque. The power reaches through a 9-speed automatic transmission. One contrasting element between the standard GLC and the coupe is that the standard provides the option of rear- or all-wheel drive, while the coupe only offers the brand’s 4MATIC® all-wheel-drive system.
A Fresh Interior
The changes that are certainly the most apparent to the GLC coupe are revealed once potential shoppers open the doors. The twin digital displays use the automaker’s latest MBUX infotainment system, utilizing a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a portrait-oriented 11.9-inch touchscreen, which is somewhat angled toward the driver’s side. The door panels have been reworked to incorporate a floating control cluster with controls for both the door handles and seat adjustments.
Mercedes-Benz hasn’t revealed pricing for the 2024 GLC Coupe just yet. Still, it’s expected that it will cost several thousand dollars more than its boxier family member, so it wouldn’t hurt for it to reach close to $60,000 (plus destination fee) when it starts arriving at dealerships later this year.
