A Look At The New 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC
Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV has been reworked for the 2023 model year, and it’s bringing with it an interior that shares many similarities with the C-Class sedan, a new mild-hybrid powertrain, developed driver-assist technologies, and the latest MBUX (Mercedes Benz User Experience) infotainment system with new features.
Interior
The GLC’s new cabin has details that are more conspicuous with details that are almost an exact replica of the C-Class sedan, particularly with the front seats and front door panels. Likewise, aircraft-inspired air vents augment the dashboard otherwise taken over by a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a portrait-fixed 11.9-inch center infotainment touchscreen display.
Every 2023 GLC 300 and GLC 300 4MATIC® model comes with MB-Tex simulated leather upholstery and heated front seats. Optional features consist of leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, thermal insulation glass, along with direct and indirect ambient lighting.
Another standard is the Easy Pack power liftgate. Upon opening it, you’ll find more cargo space in the latest GLC. According to the German car brand, the volume has been increased by 2.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats to 21.9 cubes. While the 40/20/40 split rear seat folds down, the company does not offer the maximum cargo space figures.
Safety
The only standard safety equipment that has been confirmed thus far is the Pre Safe Front and Pre Safe Rear collision-preparation systems. More than likely, the 2023 GLC will bring over the same gadgets the previous model had.
There are, however, two optional packages that have progressive driving assistance systems, one of them bringing the Driving Assistance Package, which has three (key upgrades): Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Steering Assist, and Traffic Sign Assist technology.
The GLC is also available with a Driving Assistance Package Plus, which comes with a Pre-Safe Impulse Side. There is even a new Parking garage that includes a surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking, and semi-autonomous Active Parking Assist technology.
Technology
The latest GLC compact will have the newest MBUX infotainment technology it involves developed natural-voice-recognition capability, Online Music access to various music-streaming services, Newsflash news delivery, and a fingerprint scanner that allows the driver to log in to a profile with personal settings and data.
The MBUX has standard features like over-the-air software updates. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging. Buyers of the GLC can upgrade with full-screen navigation and augmented reality. There is also an optional 15-speaker Burmester surround-sound system and color head-up display.
Another standard feature is the brand’s Guard 360 vehicle-protection technology. It examines the exterior and interior of the vehicle, senses parking collisions, and triggers visual and audible warnings and owner notifications through the Mercedes Me app if anything happens to the GLC while in park. Advancements to this feature consist of a stolen-vehicle locator and remote emergency key-deactivation capability.
