The first van, the Metris Getaway, is geared toward overlanding, a popular hobby that includes traveling to remote locations in a self-reliant style. The other van, the Metris Camper Van, is more akin to an RV because it provides more living amenities. While Mercedes has been focused on EVs lately, it is nice to see the automaker branching out and providing outdoor enthusiasts with more options. Designed by Driverge and Peace Vans, the Metris Getaway and the Metris Camper Van are two vans tailored for those seeking the outdoors. Both Driverge and Peace Vans specialize in custom vans, and together with Mercedes-Benz, they offer two innovative vans that will reshape camping and Overlanding. Over the last few years, Overlanding has become a popular hobby that grants owners the freedom of the outdoors. While camping has long since been a popular weekend getaway for many, Mercedes-Benz offers an innovative way to continue that tradition with a new twist.
One of the first vans offered is the Mercedes-Benz Metris Getaway. Designed as a daily driver, this camper conversion van offers owners a renovated interior that can comfortably sleep four. The van features swivel driver and front passenger seats as well as a built-in table. Providing a cozy and roomy ambiance, families and friends can utilize the space for meals or fun tabletop games. When it comes time to sleep, the Metris Getaway offers a pop-up roof with a bed. This hidden space offers 78 inches of clearance and features a 2-inch mattress. USB charging ports are also readily available.
The other available van is the Mercedes-Benz Metris Camper Van. True to its name, this van is designed as an RV-style camper. Larger than the Metris Getaway, the Metris Camper Van features a portable sink, a mini-fridge, and a two-burner stove. The Camper Van comes equipped with all the features included in the Metris Getaway so those wanting to up their camping experience will find this to be the more capable option. The Metris Camper Van also offers additional storage and features 110V of power integrated into the rear of the van. A roof rack and bike rack are available and it should be noted that both vans offer up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity as well. Pricing for the Metris Getaway starts at an MSRP of about $60,000 (plus destination fee), while the Metris Camper Van starts at an MSRP of about $240,000 (plus destination fee). For outdoor enthusiasts, the Mercedes-Benz Metris Getaway and Metris Camper Van prove to be innovative and accommodating vans that will only enhance the outdoor experience.
