Mercedes-Benz EV Program

The popular deluxe German car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz is releasing the Mercedes EQ experience, an engaging EV training program meant to expand employee knowledge. The goal of the program is to invigorate and educate team members of the company around its new EV sub-brand.

Mercedes-Benz is conducting a three-day EV training program. This training will take place in Alabama, where the company recently opened a battery factory for EV batteries built in the U.S. The automaker has been preparing for its full-on transition to electric vehicles since announcing its new strategy in October 2020.

Mercedes-Benz defined its purposeful goals with a “clear commitment to the full electrification of our product portfolio.” Mercedes-Benz then reiterated its goals last July by announcing the company going fully electric by 2030.

The German automaker came out packing much heat with the production of its first set of electric models, especially with its flagship EQS sedan. Mercedes-Benz’s new EV program is currently their latest commitment in their efforts to full-on electric transition. At the present moment, its EQ lineup currently includes the following:

  • Mercedes-Benz EQS – A fully electric sedan. It drives on 350 miles of electric range and has a 107.8 kWh battery capacity from the traditional S-Class sedan.
  • Mercedes-Benz EQB – A fully-electric compact SUV that can charge from 10% to 80% in about 30 mins by using DC fast charging stations.
  • Mercedes-Benz EQE – Scheduled to arrive in 2023, an all-electric sedan filled with spaciousness and maximum comfort, serving as part of the Mercedes E line.

Mercedes-Benz is striving to be a leader in electric driving through its EQ line. In this regard, the company is holding a three-day EV program to aid in providing a flawless EV experience.

The Purpose Of The EV Program

As many big-time car manufacturers make the transition from gasoline-powered to fully electric vehicles, it creates a unique experience for employees and their customers. While from the outside, many of these vehicles may look similar, the inside is the true selling point.

That’s exactly why Mercedes is holding the EV program, as this will ensure that all team members remain on the same page.

Electric models are constructed entirely different from traditional models. Rather than hundreds of moving parts, EVs only have one, and that’s the motor. Moreover, EVs are typically less expensive to maintain, as Lisa Rosenfieldm, GM of Mercedes-Benz academy, says:

The Mercedes EQ experience is a fully immersive learning event designed to leave participants not only energized about our brand’s electric future, but also confident explaining the benefits and technology to our customers.

The first day will kick off will a meet and greet as the instructor will set things in motion. Then, participants will engage in four interactive sessions to learn about the brand’s history, technology, and the future of the EQ line. For the second day, participants will engage in a hands-on activity involving EV building block technology while learning how to interact with customers looking for an EQ model.

The third and final day of this program will involve thrilling EV driving experiences to explain the technology that powers Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
