The Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class is truly in a league of its own as it enters the new generation in the company with the C-Class sedan. This 2023 luxury compact is coming with a new interior and now has a standard with a turbocharged mild-hybrid engine. Let’s explore all of the ins and outs of the latest iteration of this crossover SUV.

Engine

The 2023 GLC SUV gets its fix from one and only powertrain, and that’s the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharger with 258 horses. This mild-hybrid machine is a 48-volt system that is made to acquire better performance and efficiency. While the company has not released the fuel economy figures just yet, we do know that the EQ Boost system contributes to slightly better figures than the traditional GLC 300.

The rear-wheel drive (RWD) system is standard, while the 4MATIC® all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is optional. Either way, all models make use of a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior

There isn’t much of a visual difference between the newest GLC crossover and its predecessors. Alternatively, the subtle advancements that it has made resulted in a sleeker and more updated version of the vehicle.

The AMG® Line appearance package gives the 2023 GLC the ultimate wow factor, as it brings on sportier front and rear fascias, less chrome, an intriguing grille insert, and 19-inch wheels with staggered tires. It also invites more options such as unique wheels and body-color wheel arches.

Interior

While the exterior doesn’t stray much from its original design, the interior certainly does. This colorfully crafted lodge is elegant from the top-down, and the material quality is at its finest. It also has a major improvement in its cargo space, specifically from 2.5cubic feet to 21.9 cubes.

Standards

Standard features are plentiful with the 300 involving LED headlights and taillights, remote start, ambient lighting, heated front seats with memory, a wireless charging pad, sunroof, power liftgate, 40/20/40 split/folding back seats, and a multi-function leather steering wheel.

The MBUX infotainment system has an 11.9-inch touchscreen that can start off by using voice control. It also comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

Standard safety gadgets consist of blind-spot monitoring, attention assist, active brake assist, and the Pre-Safe system.

Options

The fun doesn’t stop there, as there are plenty of potential add-ons that one can opt for, with one of the main ones being the 4MATIC® AWD. With this system, you’ll be able to get an off-road driving mode and hill-descent control. It also comes with a standard “transparent hood” feature, allowing one to see what the front wheels are doing on the MBUX screen.

There are several standalone options and packages available, with some of the highlighting ones encompassing Parktronic with active parking assist, a surround-view system, panoramic sunroof, Burmester 3D Surround System audio, navigation with augmented video, a head-up display, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and SiriusXM.

Another great option is the Driver Assistance Package. This brings along several top-tier safety tech features like Distronic adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, active steering assist with lane detection, and more.
