What’s New for the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA
Well, it’s that time of year. No, we aren’t talking about the holiday season. We are referring to the time of year when we receive all sorts of news about the latest Mercedes-Benz models as we leave one new model year and prepare for another.
In this case, we’re actually jumping ahead to the 2021 model year to give you news on the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA. There are many changes to get excited about.
Of course, there are plenty of minor changes you may not even notice. These include a height increase of 3.9 inches and 0.6 inches shorter in length. Better yet, inside the new GLA passengers can enjoy more front headroom and more rear legroom.

New Tech In the GLA
There is plenty of high tech equipment that we are excited for drivers to experience. Let’s start with the Driver Assistance Package, which adds things like the exit warning function that can detect and alert drivers to vehicles or cyclists approaching on the side. An Off-Road Engineering Package receives an extra drive mode that can change power delivery from the engine. Of course, we also can’t forget about the new car wash function, which we have talked about previously. Upon selecting, the car wash function prepares your vehicle to enter a wash in order to not only optimize it for cleaning but make sure it remains safe and secure.
2021 GLA Engine Specs
The GLA’s engine has been optimized in order to go along with the changes for the 2021 model year. It will deliver 221 horsepower (compared to 208 from its predecessor) and 258 lb-ft of torque. The SUV has a top speed of 130 mph. In addition, the engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
As you can see, the changes for the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA are exciting, but the reality is that we’ve only scratched the surface. So, make sure you schedule some time behind the wheel when the model releases in the summer of 2020. We look forward to seeing you back again on the Mercedes-Benz of Washington blog.
